Taylion Academy is dedicated to helping students succeed. NWEA Benchmark testing is one tool we use to identify student strengths and weaknesses, which allows us to better support students and help guide them toward individual success. Students participate in testing three times a year. This provides invaluable information to our teachers and staff throughout the year, enabling them to provide individual on-going support.
Taylion Academy has incorporated different types of evaluations to track student mastery, monitor growth, and celebrate progress.
- Summative Assessments: A variety of summative assessments are utilized by Taylion. Some benchmark assessments which measure mastery of a standard include unit and final exams as well as NWEA testing to monitor annual and personal growth. Additionally, CAASPP testing, PFT, and ELPAC are implemented.
- Formative Assessments: Taylion uses formative assessments to offer insight to both teachers and students as to how the learning process can be improved. Examples include feedback and assessments of current curriculum, student/teacher meetings, graphic organizers, projects, written summaries of lessons, etc.
